Laura Miles is a project management and construction claims specialist with over 31 years of civil engineering experience, with the last 10 being focused on Pacific Northwest projects. Her substantial background includes design, construction, and project management work in the public and private sectors. Her responsibilities have included project management, project controls, contract administration, construction supervision, cost estimating, scheduling, construction claims, and schedule analysis. This background makes her uniquely qualified to understand and address complex issues efficiently and effectively.
Laura has extensive experience in providing entitlement evaluations, as well as schedule, cost, and productivity analyses on a wide range of projects, such as commercial and federal runway construction; port facilities; highways and bridges; municipal water reservoirs; wastewater treatment facilities; urban residential high-rises; resort hotels; light rail; storm, waste, and potable water tunnels and piping; airfield training and maintenance facilities; jet fuel distribution systems; college campuses; shipyard remediation; maintenance warehouses; building renovations; high security communications facilities; flood control; and environmental remediation.
Prior to joining McMillen Jacobs Associates, she held several positions with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in California, Hawaii, Kansas, Pennsylvania, Japan, Korea, Germany, and Kuwait. During this time, she developed extensive understanding and expertise in all aspects of design and construction management including the application of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs), Defense Department Regulations (DFARs), and Corps of Engineers Regulations (EFARs). She also served as a field engineer for a national contractor for military barracks and maintenance facilities construction on Oahu in Hawaii for several years.
Laura is a practicing licensed Professional Civil Engineer in California, Hawaii, and Oregon.
