The following McMillen Jacobs staff authored papers for the 2021 Australasian Tunnelling Conference ATS2020+1 held in Melbourne, Australia:

Chris Rees, Gerardo Sanchez, Mark Trim, Koray Yurt, and Sebastian Krauss presented the paper “Excavation and Primary Support of Pitt Street Station.”

Mark Trim presented the paper “Observational Approach to Water-Resistant Lining for a Major Urban Road Tunnel” (coauthors and presenters: T. Brown, M. Lennon, and T. Nash).

The following McMillen Jacobs staff authored papers for the 2021 Rapid Excavation and Tunneling Conference (RETC) held in Las Vegas, Nevada:

Andrew McGlenn presented the paper (coauthored by Gregg Davidson and Frank Huber) “Second Narrows Water Supply Tunnel—Final Design, Procurement and Construction.”

Martino Scialpi presented the paper (coauthored by Colin Lavassar, Moussa Wone, and Carlton Ray) “Design and Construction Challenges at the Potomac River Tunnel in Washington DC.”

Mun Wei Leong, Ted DePooter, and Chad Frederick authored “Tunneling Beneath Downtown Bellevue on Time and Under Budget.”

Fred Marquis, Ulf Gwildis, and John Newby authored “Deep Portal Shafts of the Annacis Island Outfall Tunnels—Building on Pacific Northwest Shaft Design Experience.”

Gregg Davidson coedited the Rapid Excavation and Tunneling Conference 2021 Proceedings, and Fred Marquis took the photo of the Second Narrows Water Supply Tunnel Project that was selected for the cover.
Jeannine Alexander and Gail Kinner received 15-year Milestone Awards from the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS).

Elisa Comis received an Honorable Mention for her photo of an underwater TBM breakthrough in the 2021 SME Underground Construction Association Photo Contest.

Ethan Guzek, William Gates, and Carol Ravano published “On Top of the Slide” in the June 2021 issue of Railway Track and Structures magazine.

Ali Keneti published the coauthored article “Review of Design Parameters for Discontinuous Numerical Modelling of Excavations in the Hawkesbury Sandstone” in Engineering Geology Journal, 288, July 2021.

Sarah Wilson gave the opening keynote address at the American Rock Mechanics Association (ARMA) 55th US Rock Mechanics/Geomechanics Symposium.
