Water Resources Division Hires Jay Dallas, PE, Project Manager and Mechanical Engineer

Project Manager and Mechanical Engineer Jay Dallas, PE, is the newest member of our Water Resources Mechanical Engineering team.

Jay joins us with 17 years of experience in mechanical design and project management focusing on hydropower, fish passage, cranes, large valves, and gate rehabilitation, hydraulic power systems, and large-scale pumping plants. His most recent experience was serving as Team Lead and Mechanical Engineer for USACE Portland District’s Hydroelectric Design Center, where he managed workload for a team of five engineers and was mechanical design engineer on a number of crane and powerhouse systems projects.

At McMillen Jacobs, Jay will be serving as Mechanical Engineer for Wallowa Lake Irrigation District, Wallowa Lake Dam Rehabilitation, and Nevada Irrigation District, Hemphill Diversion Structure. He will also be lending his expertise on several gate testing projects.

Jay holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from United States Military Academy, West Point. He also served in the US Army from 2004 to 2009 as an active-duty engineer officer, where he held positions from platoon leader to company commander.

His extensive and challenging experience working in the hydro industry proves him as an incredible addition to our mechanical team, welcome Jay!
