Water Resources Division welcomes Jeff Lowy and Michael Boo to the Engineering Team

McMillen Jacobs Associates Water Resource division is pleased to announce the addition of Jeff Lowy, Civil/Pipeline Project Manager, and Michael Boo, Sr Project Mechanical Engineer.

Jeff Lowy has over 15 years of experience designing pressure and gravity flow pipelines for the Municipal Water/Wastewater, Mining, and Oil and Gas Industries. His most recent experience includes parallel 350 miles long 20”/16” welded steel pipelines carrying Natural Gas Liquids from Ohio to Philadelphia including two years of field construction support. He also has designed dozens of municipal and industrial pump stations for potable, sanitary sewer, mine seepage, deep groundwater wells, and stormwater collection systems, his favorite being floating barge systems for mine tailings dams decant systems. At McMillen Jacobs, Jeff will be the Project Engineer for a Pump Station project which includes modifications to an existing fish screen and sedimentation structure and a new wet-well to house new solids handling booster pumps along with upgrades to the existing aboveground piping and electrical, instrumentation, and controls.

Based in Denver, CO, Jeff holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Arizona State University. He is also a Project Management Professional (PMP).

Michael Boo brings 15 years of engineering experience in the mechanical, nuclear, fire protection, and manufacturing fields. Prior to joining McMillen Jacobs, Michael was a Senior Mechanical Engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he was responsible for developing the design of mechanical equipment and features of large construction projects such as multipurpose dams, river navigation structures, fish hatcheries, and fish bypass facilities. His expertise includes design and implementation of machinery, hoists, lifting beams, process piping, pumps, plumbing, compressed air, fire protection, fish handling equipment, and other systems of major size and complexity. At McMillen Jacobs, Michael will be working on the Gearbox Feasibility and Trashrack and Stoplog Refurbishment projects for Chelan PUD’s Rocky Reach Dam site.

Based in Portland, OR, Michael holds an MS in Wind Engineering, FH Kiel University of Applied Sciences, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from North Dakota State University.

Jeff and Michael’s longstanding industry presence and lengthy history of collaborating with different technical disciplines and diverse project teams will be a welcomed addition to the Water Resources engineering team!
