Victor Romero has over 28 years of experience in tunnel and excavation support design, construction management, and claims consulting. He has served as project manager and director on numerous underground rail, highway, water supply, and wastewater projects. His technical experience includes deep shaft design; pipe jacking and trenchless methods; initial ground support and lining design for tunnels; grouting for tunnels; excavation with hard-rock and soft-ground tunnel boring machines; tunnel rehabilitation; temporary excavation support design; and building protection. In addition, he is known for his experience in the New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM). He holds a MS in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a BS in Geological Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. He is a registered Professional Engineer in California and 13 other United States jurisdictions, a Certified Engineering Geologist in California, and is a Chartered Professional Engineer in New Zealand.
